4/6/10 - UPDATE:
Working on the track every night this week to prepare for our first race.
Volunteers welcome (and appreciated).

Track construction is mostly complete - still need starting gate, starting lights and
electric. Also, we need to rake, drag and pack it to get the smooth finish.

Construction
Day 1 - DIRT HAULING 8/24/09- Ottawa County Trucks delivered
approximately 40 loads of dirt to the track location. The City of Miami
did the loading of the trucks on the starting end and Jim Ludlum
volunteered all the time, equipment and labor to keep the pile under
control with a backhoe so our trucks don't run out of room to put the
clay!

Day 2 - DIRT HAULING 8/25/09- Ottawa County Trucks continued the delivery of
the dirt all day long. I have attached some pictures because it just seems too good
to be real. Jim Ludlum was at the track this morning before I was, he was ready to
go before the first load of dirt was delivered for the day! We couldn't make it
without him!

Day 3 - DIRT HAULING 8/26/09- Ottawa County Trucks showed back up and were
accompanied by City of Miami Trucks. They hauled clay for 1/2 day until the
excess pile was completely moved to our track.

9/9/09 DIRT HAULING STATUS - The City of Miami found more clay at a different
location and they are waiting for the construction at that location to get to the point
where clay is ready to be hauled to our track location.

9/9/09 FENCING - We are meeting with some folks today that may donate all of a
portion of our chain link fencing. This saved our budget approximately $8,900.

9/21/09 DIRT HAULING - Collins Construction hauled approximately 750 yards to
our track location. This gives us an approximate total of 1,750 of the 3,000 yards
minimum needed.

9/29/09 - DIRT HAULING UPDATE - The final phase of the dirt hauling has begun!!
If the weather holds out we should have all of the dirt necessary for the construction
of the track on the location by the first week in October!!!

10/27/09 - UPDATE:
WORK DAY TO BE RESCHEDULED - We will reschedule the work day and post
the new date as soon as possible. Please check back often.

11/7/09 - UPDATE:
The track builder is here and it is kind of slow going because of the wetness of the
track. He has gotten stuck several times because it is just so wet. He is sticking
with is and doing an awesome job.

11/18/09 - UPDATE:
We have everything blocked in but we still have one turn to complete and then we
need to rake, drag and pack the track.

2/1/10 - UPDATE:
Working on getting the electric hooked up, starting gate built, concrete pad poured
and many other things prior to opening days. We will be announcing work days as
soon as the weather cooperates.

4/6/10 - UPDATE:
Gate is installed and we ran some practice gates tonight. Lights are
fantastic and everything seems to be coming together. Track still needs lots
of work prior to opening day but we are working on it every night this week.

Opening day planned for 4/10 - See you there!
